Education Begins with a Conversation

Choosing a learning community is one of the most important decisions a family will make. At DYIP, admission is not simply about filling out an application form or securing a place. It is about beginning a meaningful conversation to understand whether our philosophy, values, and approach to education align with your family's aspirations for your child.

Every learner is unique. Every family has its own experiences, traditions, dreams, and expectations. Because of this, we believe admissions should focus on understanding the individual rather than comparing academic marks, examination scores, or rankings.

DYIP is built upon partnership. The learner, the family, and the learning community all play equally important roles in a child's education. We therefore invite families who share our vision of curiosity, lifelong learning, responsibility, sustainability, and community living to begin their journey with us through an open conversation.

This conversation allows both your family and the DYIP team to ask questions, understand expectations, explore the learner's interests, and discover whether DYIP is the right environment for your child's growth. We believe that choosing a school should be a thoughtful decision made together rather than a hurried admission process.

Our goal is not simply to admit learners. Our goal is to build a community of families who believe that education should prepare children not only for examinations or careers, but for meaningful, responsible, and fulfilling lives.

Admission at DYIP is not the beginning of a school year.

It is the beginning of a lifelong partnership between the learner, the family, and the learning community.
GETTING TO KNOW YOUR LEARNER

Tell Us About Your Learner

Before we discuss admission, we would first like to know your child—not as an applicant, but as a unique individual. Every learner brings different interests, experiences, strengths, dreams, and ways of learning. Understanding these helps us begin a meaningful conversation.

Academic marks and examination results tell only a small part of a learner's story. We are equally interested in understanding what inspires your child, what they enjoy doing, how they solve problems, how they interact with others, and what kind of environment helps them grow.

When writing to us, you may include the following information. These are simply guidelines to help us understand your learner better—you do not need to follow a fixed format.

👤 Learner Information

  • Full Name
  • Date of Birth / Age
  • Current City & Country
  • Current School (if applicable)
  • Languages Spoken

🌱 Interests & Passions

  • Favourite activities
  • Subjects they enjoy
  • Hobbies and creative interests
  • Sports, music or arts
  • Things they are naturally curious about

⭐ Strengths

  • Personal strengths
  • Special talents
  • Projects they have created
  • Achievements you are proud of
  • Any learning support they may need

Most importantly, tell us about your child as a person. What makes them smile? What excites them? What do they dream about? What kind of learner are they becoming? These insights help us understand the individual beyond academic records.

Every learner has a unique story.

We would love to begin by listening to yours.
YOUR FAMILY'S VISION

Share Your Family's Vision

Every family hopes for a meaningful future for their child, but every family defines success differently. Some value creativity, others independence, compassion, practical skills, leadership, curiosity, or service to society. Before we begin this journey together, we would love to understand what matters most to your family.

Rather than asking you to complete a series of checkboxes, we invite you to write us a letter. Tell us about your family, your experiences, your hopes, and the kind of future you imagine for your child. There is no perfect answer and no expected format. We simply want to understand your story.

You may wish to reflect on questions such as these:

Why are you exploring an alternative approach to education?
What kind of person do you hope your child becomes?
What do you expect from DYIP?
What are your child's greatest strengths and interests?
What challenges has your child experienced while learning?
How do you believe your family can contribute to the DYIP community?

At DYIP, education is a partnership. Learners spend only part of their lives on campus—the rest is spent with family and within their communities. Parents and guardians therefore play an essential role in nurturing curiosity, responsibility, empathy, confidence, and lifelong learning.

We are not looking for perfect families. We are looking for families who are willing to learn, grow, collaborate, and become active members of a learning community. Together, we can create an environment where every learner is supported both at home and at DYIP.

The strongest education begins when families and learning communities grow together.
THE NEXT STEP

What Happens Next?

After receiving your email, our team will carefully read everything you have shared about your learner and your family. We believe every application deserves thoughtful attention rather than a quick decision.

If we believe that DYIP may be the right learning community for your child, we will contact you to arrange an online or in-person conversation. This is an opportunity for both your family and the DYIP team to get to know one another better.

During this conversation, we discuss your learner's interests, strengths, aspirations, learning experiences, and any questions your family may have about our philosophy, curriculum, campus, and community life. We encourage open dialogue because choosing a learning community should always be a mutual decision.

Whenever possible, families may also be invited to visit the campus, meet facilitators, interact with learners, experience the learning spaces, and observe the community in everyday life. We believe there is no better way to understand DYIP than by experiencing it personally.

Admission decisions are never based solely on examination scores or academic performance. Instead, we consider whether DYIP is the right environment for the learner and whether the learner and family are ready to become active members of our learning community.

Our goal is not simply to fill available places. Our goal is to build a community where learners, families, facilitators, and the wider society grow together with shared values, trust, curiosity, and responsibility.

Admission is not about being selected.

It is about discovering whether we are the right learning community for one another.
